#throwbackthursday Gorillaz on Loveline

Gorillaz (Damon Albarn, Jamie Hewlett, and Murdoc) appeared on the most unlikely of radio shows in 2002: Loveline, which was back then on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles. Loveline is a syndicated radio program which offers sex, medical, and relationship advice — often with the help of celebrities. On March 6, 2002, Gorillaz were the guests of honor.

Murdoc – who is supposed to be calling in from a hotel room in San Francisco – does most of the talking throughout the entire show. The show is, in my opinion, hysterical. Murdoc offers sex advice to awkward teenagers and completely takes over at some point — apparently this really pissed off the show’s hosts. (They talked about how awful it was for years to come!) If you ask me, the hosts were totally into it, especially when Murdoc’s hotel guests get on the phone.

NSFW WarningI wouldn’t listen to this in a public place. There’s talk of sex, bodily functions, and drugs. 😮
