Back in May 2010, Murdoc appeared on an XFM (now RadioX) show called The Residency (fun fact: the show was first launched with Damon Albarn in 2007). The show was planned to air every Sunday in May between 9pm and 10pm, but unfortunately the last shows were cut due to “the Gorillaz team…too busy now that Glastonbury’s coming up”.
Regardless, we still got to hear two shows. One with solely Murdoc, spinning his most influential tunes; the other with both Murdoc and 2D featuring their own music from past and present.
Fans were disappointed for a long time, as these two recordings were seemingly taken off of Youtube and lost forever. However, Kwangx from Gorillaz-Unofficial was able to supply the recordings just this past week! Big thanks!
